५.सारांश..... मराठी के प्रतिष्ठित उपन्यासकार शिवाजी सावंत का ‘मृत्युंजय’ इसी कर्ण को केन्द्र में रखकर लिखा गया चरित्र-प्रधान उपन्यास है। शिवाजी सावंत का यह उपन्यास उनका पहला उपन्यास था जिसे उन्होंने 27 वर्ष की अवस्था में ही लिखा था। मराठी में इसका प्रकाशन 1967 ई० में हुआ था। इसका हिन्दी अनुवाद सबसे पहले 1974 में प्रकाशित हुआ और इसके हिन्दी अनुवाद के ही 43 संस्करण छप चुके हैं। इसे कई पुरस्कार मिल चुके हैं और कई देशी-विदेशी भाषा में इसका अनुवाद हो चुका है। इसके अलावा उनके दो उपन्यास ‘छावा’ और ‘युगंधर’ हैं जो क्रमशः शिवाजी और कृष्ण के चरित्रों को केन्द्र में रखकर लिखे गए हैं। मृत्युंजय का अनुवाद हिन्दी के अलावा कई देशी-विदेशी भाषाओं में हो चुका है।
इस उपन्यास की भूमिका में शिवाजी सावंत ने बताया है कि कर्ण के चरित्र से वे बचपन से ही, जब वे आठवीं या नवीं के छात्र थे, एक मराठी नाटिका ‘अंगराज कर्ण’ में अभिनय करते वक्त परिचित हुए थे। उसके बाद बी० ए० प्रथम वर्ष में राष्ट्रभाषा हिन्दी के पर्चे में हिन्दी के कवि केदारनाथ मिश्र ‘प्रभात’ के खंडकाव्य ‘कर्ण’ से वे काफी प्रभावित हुए और मराठी में वैसा खंडकाव्य लिखने की इच्छा जगी। उसकी तैयारी के दौरान कर्ण के चरित्र की महाकाव्यात्मक संभावनाएँ देखते हुए उन्होंने समझा कि इस पर तो उपन्यास लिखा जाना चाहिए और वे उपन्यास के लिए महाभारत के विस्तृत अध्ययन की ओर प्रवृत्त हुए। महाभारत के अध्ययन के बाद उन्होंने कर्ण के जीवन से संबंधित हिन्दी, अंग्रेज़ी और मराठी के नाटक, काव्य, उपन्यास, शोध तथा भाष्यों का अध्ययन किया जिसमें मराठी के नाटककार श्री शि० म० परांजपे के नाटक ‘पहला पाण्डव’ का उन्होंने विशेष रूप से जिक्र किया है। उसके बाद उन्होंने महाभारत से संबंधित स्थलों की यात्रा की।
इस उपन्यास की रचना-शैली में उन्होंने पात्रों की वक्तव्य-शैली का सहारा लिया है। उपन्यास या कहानी की रचना-शैली का यह महत्वपूर्ण बिन्दु होता है कि कथा किसके दृष्टिकोण से कही जा रही है। इस दृष्टिकोण को “वैन्टेज़-प्वाइंट” कहते हैं। अधिकतर उपन्यासों में उपन्यासकार अदृश्य रूप से कथा सुनाता है एक ऐसे व्यक्ति के रूप में जो सर्वज्ञाता और अन्तर्यामी है अर्थात् वह सभी पात्रों के मन में उठनेवाले विचारों को भी जानता है।

७.व्यक्तिगत टिप्पणी ...मृत्युंजय में लेखक ने महाभारत के इसी इतिहास को अंगराज कर्ण के दृष्टिकोण से सुनाया है। कुछ घटनाओं पर प्रकाश डालने के उद्देश्य से दुर्योधन, कुंती, वैशाली व भगवान् श्री कृष्ण के व्यक्तित्वों पर भी बल दिया गया है। उपन्यास के आरंभ में कर्ण अपनी मृत्यु के पश्चात् पाठकों को संबोधित करते देखे जाते हैं।

In The Great Derangement: Climate Change and the Unthinkable, acclaimed novelist Amitav Ghosh offers a new non-fiction work that aims to confront this urgent issue by reflecting on our ‘deranged’ modes of political and socio-economic organisation via three themes: literature, history and politics. This is an admirable book that both examines and manifests the limits of human thought when it comes to the spectre of environmental catastrophe.

They will ask for a better attitude because it can make a person excellent and successful.

Own comments - The author says that people’s attitude contributes to success. As per a study done by Harvard University, they say 85 percent of people get a job because of their attitude, and only 15 percent of people get a job because they are clever or intelligent.

AJANTA CAVE IN PERIL

India is home to many UNESCO World Heritage Sites as it has a culture and history that spans thousands of years. One of the most famous ancient historic sites and tourist destinations among them in India are the Ajanta Caves. These caves are rock-cut Buddhist Cave Monuments in the Aurangabad District in Maharashtra known for displaying historic Indian sculptures, architecture, and ancient Indian art. Pitfalls of too many tourists

without proper regulations of footfalls , a daily average of 1000 tourists visit the caves the excess humidity and hight CO2 from human breath is major reason for the deterioration of the murals in the caves complex.

But now days ajanta caves in peril due to climatics , seepages electricity led bulb excess use in result most of the painting turn in brownies colour , people are coming to visit ajanta caves without proper guide and they comes walk in and walk out not concerned about how to prevent it . So this is so serious issue . Necessary action should be taken for preserving caves painting.

"Wings of Fire: An Autobiography of Abdul Kalam” has been written by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and Arun Tiwari. This book is an autobiography of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India.

This story thtow light on the journey of a young boy from Rameswaram to become a famous scientist. It shows how simple living, dedication, strong will and hard work led to success. It also shows how cultural unity impacts the lives of individuals.

The story starts with Kalam as a boy around 1930 in the village of Rameswaram where he lived with his parents and four brothers and one sister. In this book, the author tells us how the role of family, relatives, friends, and society contribute to an individual’s life.

Kalam describes his village where everyone lives in harmony. Religious discrimination was unknown at that time. A passage that shows the closeness they had: “The high priest of Rameswaram temple, Pakshi Lakshmana Sastry, was a very close friend of my father’s. One of the most vibrant memories of his early childhood is of the two men, each in his traditional attire, discussing spiritual matters.”

When he was very young, Kalam wanted to join the Indian Airforce but he was not able to clear the interview. Far from being demotivated, he focused more on studies, started his career in Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), and was involved in the design of a hovercraft. He went to NASA on a training program. He moved to Indian Space Research and there he met Vikram Sarabhai. He also met many geniuses who inspired him. This book also describes leadership and teamwork, while making the projects. It shows how a man becomes a leader whenever there is a successful project or a failed one.

The book reveals extensive and detailed project work by Dr. APJ Kalam, which I find distracting from the story of his life. Some readers may find this detailed descriptions boring and unappealing. It highlights the successful execution of “Agni” and other projects.

The book narrates India’s technological achievements at a time, few nations can boast of. It speaks about some brilliant minds who worked behind Indian space research such as Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. Brahm Prakash and their contribution towards ISRO.

As a reader, this book initially is very interesting particularly the portions from his younger days to a college student like how his family encouraged him. Later, the writing becomes a bit monotonous as it gives minute illustrations of the projects. At the end, he offers advice to the younger generation not to get demotivated and lead a positive life.

This book demonstrates how Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s simple living and positive thinking became an inspiration for the Indian youth.

In Swami and friends by R.K.NARAYAN we have the theme of disobedience ,conflict,control,authority,power,rebellion and independence .Narrated in the third person by an unnamed narrator the reader realises after reading the story that Narayan may be exploring the theme of disobedience

The protagonist of the story is a 10-years old boy.He is an unconstrained, indiscreet ,and wicked but then also an exceptionally honest child.His character is a kid in the fullest feeling of the world.How he grows up,his mischiefs which made his family irritated ,his wonder, growing pains and innocence and many aspects are being portrayed in the novel.He lives in a universe of bossy grown-ups.He is a student at Albert Mission school.It is a British established school where importance is given to Christianity and English education.

Moral:-

The moral of Swami and Friends the book written by R.K.NARAYAN is that it reminds us about our childhood memories such as mischiefs in childhood, plucking sweetness of childhood and importance of friendship.

I like the book ,as it teaches us about the importance of childhood memories ,mischiefs and friendship. I would like to suggest everyone to read this book.
